Yearning for More

I'm aware that I'm smart, but I need to look up appetite to get a clear picture of where I want to take you. The Cambridge Dictionary says it best: "a strong feeling of wanting or needing something." Edible food is fine, but what about your soul and spirit? Even the mind? Are you afraid to feed them? It's understandable if this is true for you. The challenge is how to better feed all the parts of us.

If anything, let this blog be a reminder. I feel we desire beauty as much as a steak. I've found that there are consequences to both. When seeking beauty, is it true beauty? The kind of beauty that heals? But can you see what the numbers in your bank account reveal? It is that way of life that is being lived. Did you dine out all week? Maybe it's time to find the beauty in making a humble meal at home. Do you know how to cook? Maybe it's time to learn how.

As I heal from past hurts, I learn what has helped and what has hindered. Overeating can be a way to avoid what we truly want and need. For, does your body really need half a tray of peanut butter brownies? I didn't think so. What do those brownies represent? For me, it could be comfort and safety. It could even be a sweetness to life that is difficult to convey. Perhaps there wasn't enough kindness today. Has life lost it's appeal?

Healing takes endurance and an appetite demands to be fed. Don't delay. Life is short. Especially from October to December, it may be time to question what we truly want and need. I urge you not to deprive the parts of yourself that want and need to be fed. Some have an appetite for adventure and some have one for the feeling of a job well done. I know I do. To be fulfilled is to be happy. At least for a little while. We all want some happiness right?

There is pain. Isn't it a bitch sometimes to go after what we really want? There are obstacles to overcome. On the other side of these things, though, we can see a bit clearer. We've made some progress. This is to be celebrated. Smooth sailing without the knowledge of having experienced difficult times loses its charm. Fulfillment is enjoyed and the next pain arises. I won't get bogged down. For me, I've got to wait until Oct 26th before my Etsy order arrives.

Opposites are harmonized. They go together. I'm saying moderation is key, and there is such a thing as too much. Find what you want and need by looking inward. You have all the answers. They are within you. You know what is right for you. I know what is right for me. Together, we can be happy with what we have and share in the harvest of our hearts.

I don't have to read very far back in my journal to remember who I was as a fourteen year old. Death has been on my mind. It could be a subconscious preparation for winter. Small deaths make up who we
